ActivArmor: 3D Printed Casts

Medicine is a fast-evolving industry; however, traditional solutions for casting broken or fractured limbs remain outdated…until now. ActivArmor is a revolutionary solution transforming orthopedic care. An innovative digital health solution, ActivArmor is crafted from recyclable ABS plastic using cutting-edge 3D printing technology. This advancement marks a seismic shift in how physicians approach immobilization and support for injuries.

You may have encountered ActivArmor in medical research, heard of its effectiveness through patient experiences, or seen it spotlighted in media coverage. In each instance, ActivArmor emerges as an advancement in orthopedic treatment casting, and Value Based Care, pushing the boundaries with its benefits of custom-fit design, entirely unique to each individual patient.

Origins and Evolution

ActivArmor emerged from CEO Diana Hall's understanding of the limitations of traditional casting methods. Inspired by her work in Chemical Engineering, and with disadvantaged youth, she saw the discomfort patients faced in old-style casts. This drove her to leverage modern technology to enhance orthopedic care.

I knew that the technology was there to provide a better, more hygienic, more comfortable solution to traditional casting, so I looked into why it wasn’t available to the general public. I addressed the design, regulatory and business process issues, and brought 3D printed casts/splints to the U.S. consumer marketplace. They are now being provided in clinics across the country.
— Diana Hall, CEO of ActivArmor

What Is ActivArmor?

ActivArmor makes breathable 3D printed casts and splints that are custom-fit to allow for improved healing, treatment options and the freedom of maintaining an active lifestyle.

CUSTOM DESIGNED

ActivArmor allows providers to design bespoke solutions for each patient’s unique injury and use case, and fitted precisely to the patient’s native anatomy for a low-profile, comfortable fit.

PRINTED ON SITE

ActivArmor casts may be fabricated at the point-of-care to allow providers to treat patients quickly with lower cost.

LOCKED-ON OR REMOVABLE

ActivArmor can be locked-on like a cast or easily removable like a splint, per doctor’s orders. Our casts convert to splints as patients progress through the healing phases.

WATERPROOF

ActivArmor allows patients to practice basic hygiene like showering and hand-washing, to reduce viral transmission and infection rates.

LOVED BY KIDS

Parents love that we are the only sanitizable cast on the market, but kids love our breathable comfort and colorful options.

COVERED BY INSURANCE

ActivArmor is covered by most insurance plans and is affordable (or even free) for patients, depending on their individual coverage.

EASY TO PRESCRIBE

Provide your patients with the care they need with ActivArmor’s turnkey system. We provide clinics with the entire system to create fully custom casts in a matter of hours at the point of care.

OUTCOMES-FOCUSED

FDA Listed, ActivArmor is a favorite tool for doctors who love fast and fantastic patient outcomes. It is also ISO-10993 certified for biocompatibility.

SUSTAINABLE

ActivArmor reduces medical waste because it is reusable and adjustable through the healing phases, to eliminate the need for multiple castings, and when the healing is complete, it can be recycled to help keep our planet beautiful.
